In the original publication of this article [1], the title was incorrectly given as “Glucagon like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists and cardiometabolic protection: historical development and future challenges” but should have been “Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) and cardiometabolic protection: historical development and future challenges”.

In addition, the graphical abstract was updated to reflect the revised title.
